Handle With Care by Jodi Picoult

Jodi Picoult is a well known and successful American author launched her new book, “Handle With Care”, in the UK at the end of April.

Based in the USA the book deals with the human aspects of looking after an OI child within the American Medical System , where everything has to be paid for. It is a story of a family with an OI (Type III) child whose mother initiates a lawsuit against her doctor, hoping the settlement will allow her to pay for her daughter’s needs. The problem is that the doctor she is suing is her best friend!

Hodder and Stoughton, the publishers, contacted us about this and we are looking at ways to work with them to try and raise the profile of the BBS and of OI.
