VOICE Youth Event Planning for Independent Living

VOICE The Event!
We are delighted to announce the success of our much anticipated Pilot Project VOICE, which took place at the Park Inn Hotel Telford last weekend. The weekend kicked off with a BBC Interview and our very own Gareth (officer and a gentleman) did the honours with a chat to the journalist about the event. Friday night we held a speed-meet and pub quiz which seemed to go down really well. Saturday was non-stop informative talks and discussions on all the topics we planned and even included Theo the dog.

The evening was a big hit with fancy dress and posh dresses aplenty. We even had a surprise 18th Birthday celebration cake for Gemma. Our brief round up on Sunday started with a group pic of our VOICE attendees and handback of feedback forms. We recruited a number of willing volunteers to help in projects throughout the coming year and the Trustees and staff want to thank all involved for making this work. Our chairman Elaine Healey was on-hand all weekend as was Toni Potterton and once we have the full results we will be in touch with all involved. The all important pics will be published soon and Aine from Donegal will be doing the honours as our official photographer who snapped some 450 pictures. So watch this space…
