Diagnosis and management of atypical, severe and complex Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI) in children
Professor Nick Bishop will soon be submitting an application to the National Commissioning Group for the purpose of developing a multidisciplinary approach to diagnosis and management of infants and children with severe, complex or atypical Osteogenesis Imperfecta. Frequent inputs are needed from specialist nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, psychology and other medical staff who must work closely with local centres, schools and other services.
The Brittle Bone Society calls upon its members to review and consult on this application in order to offer support. This could be by writing about the service you have received in the past, or currently receive from one of the centres mentioned in the application (Birmingham, Bristol, Sheffield and London (GOSH)), and how the proposed services could further support you, your children or someone you know.
