How does the Society help? Through the Society, families can get in touch with each other and share issues on how to cope. Letters and telephone calls reassure them they are not alone. The Society organises local meetings and an annual conference, which enables families to meet and exchange ideas. The Society can also give help and advice on benefits, mobility, education, equipment, medical issues including genetics, and other issues associated with OI. We can also provide short term loan of specialist wheelchairs and other equipment when required. Who do I Contact? For advice on any aspect of OI, or for more information on the loan equipment we have available please contact our Support Worker, Karen Whyte on 08000 28 24 59 or by email to Karen@brittlebone.org Many people with OI need specialist wheelchairs or equipment which is not available through the NHS. A large part of the Society's work is raising the money to pay for such equipment. This can take some time and we will need a full assessment and quote for the equipment before we can start raising funds. If you think we can help with a new wheelchair or any other equipment please contact our Fundraising Officer, Christine Hope, on 01382 204446 or by email to Chris@brittlebone.org For inquires about membership, received donations or general administration contact our Administrator, Annette McIntyre on 01382 204446 or by email to annette@brittlebone.org For press and media or any other questions about the work of the BBS please contact the Chief Executive, Raymond Lawrie on 01382 204446 or by email to raymond@brittlebone.org
