Dodd Summit Climb
Rob Winstanley was born with seven fractured ribs and a fractured femur. Rob has many fractures behind him with legs made of steel but this has not put him off leading a full and active life. Rob’s life has been a series of challenges and his biggest challenge yet as an independent wheelchair user is to reach Dodd Summit one way or another on the 21st August. He has the unwavering support of family and friends who have been there for him throughout his life.
Rob says:
“Why am I doing this? Well, the Brittle Bone Society has always been there for me and my family and I want to give something back so they can continue supporting other children who are living daily with this crippling and painful disease. I also want to remind people that life is too precious to live it as a bystander; I don’t, I really want to live! “
Please dig deep and help us to raise as much money as we can. Please donate using Rob’s Just Giving Page.
The summit of Dodd Wood, a 4.5 mile trail, gives unrivalled panoramas which encompass Derwentwater, Bassenthwaite Lake, the Solway Coast and even the hills of Dumfries and Galloway. This steep circular trail passes through wooded slopes, dramatic open hill and spectacular scenery.
