FUNDRAISING newsIt you want to sponsor anyone, or just support any fundraising event you can do so online by visiting www.justgiving.com or you can make a donation by phone, using a credit card, or by post. BEER FESTIVAL
Every year the Kinross-shire Round Table hold a beer festival to raise money for a charity, and this year it was the BBS! After several months of hard work the festival was held in September and there were several BBS staff and volunteers there on the day which was a great success. Recently Christine, our Fundraising Officer, was presented with a cheque for £5,000 from the festival.
CASINO GAMBLE PAYS OFF!
The event was well suported by local businesses, which donated to the prize draw or made donations to the BBS. Everyone seemed to enjoy playing at the casino table, the tribute to Frank Sinatra and, of course, that very special cake! So far we have received £2,500, with more to come in the next few weeks. It takes a lot of work to organise an event like this, so congratulations to you, Catherine, and if anyone asks how you were able to do all this work just tell them - "I did it my way" They CAN, You CAN! Gertie and John Farmery have supported the Brittle Bone Society for many years and remain among our most active and successful fundraisers. Recently Gertie sent us a letter all about how they raise funds from can collections and we thought we should share some of it with you...
For this year Gertie and John have already arranged no less than 20 can collections, and as Gertie said there is still "great difficulty in getting others to do collections". Details of the collections are listed below so if you think you can help with any of them contact Christine at the BBS office, 01382 204446 or chris@brittlebone.org. Charity Golf Day Last year Jamie Dennis and his colleagues at Orange, the mobile phone company, organised a Charity Golf Day in aid of the BBS.
Jump for it! Catherine Skidmore, the aunt of a new born OI baby, did a tandem parachute jump to raise funds for the BBS.
With training andmre than alittle courage Catherine jumped from 14,000 feet at Hinton Airfield near Brackley in Northamptonshire. As you can see in the photograph she thoroughly enjoyed the experience and raised money for the Brittle Bone Society. If you feel just a bit adventurous, and would also like to support the BBS,you can , "Jump for it! if you "JUMP WITH US"
