How to support the BBS
A-Z of Fundraising Ideas
There are many ways to support the Brittle Bone Society - our Fundraising Officer, Christine Hope, has compiled a list of fundraising ideas to get you started!
The Easy Way ...
If you want to sponsor anyone, any fundraising event, or just make a donation you can do so online by visting our Just Giving page or you can make a donation by credit or debit card (phone 01382 204446), or by post to Brittle Bone Society, Grant-Paterson House, 30 Guthrie Street, Dundee, DD1 5BS.
WEBSITES RAISING FUNDS FOR THE BBS
Over the last few years there have been a number of websites and services which help raise funds for charities.
Here are a few that the Brittle Bone Society is signed up to:
Dinner Parties
Dinner4Good is the new way for anyone to support any UK charity. Having friends over for dinner is great fun. Using Dinner4Good to handle your invitations and donations makes it easy for guests to support a good cause at the same time.

Can Collections
One of the easiest ways of raising money is the good old-fashioned can collection. Just a few hours of your time, for instance at a local supermarket, can bring in hundreds of pounds and our supporters around the UK raise £1,000's every year. Some people will help for a few hours two or three times a year, others will commit a lot of time and if They Can You Can! If you want to organise a local can collection, or just want to know if there is one planned in your area and you would like to help contact Christine at the BBS office, 01382 204446 or chris@brittlebone.org.

Stamps, Coins & Cards
Did you know you can help us raise funds by donating old coins, any kind of stamps and postcards? We can take notes, coins, stamps and postcards of any kind from any country. John and Mildred Price from Swansea have been collecting and selling stamps, to raise funds for the BBS, for many years.
You can send your coins, cards or stamps to the BBS office, or directly to Mrs M Price at 57 Mount Pleasant, Swansea, SA1 6EQ.
Please ensure when sending your stamps that you have the correct postage on the envelope and include your name and postal address for future correspondence.
Have you ever thought ...
Have you ever thought of making us a beneficiary under your Will?
Updating our Will is something that many of us have in mind, but somehow never get round to doing. It is natural that family and friends come first, thoughts, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t leave a gift for a registered charity, such as the Brittle Bone Society.
The Brittle Bone Society relies on the generosity of our membership, our friends and the general public to help support our services. Legacies can also play a significant part in helping us to provide help and support to people affected by Osteogenesis Imperfecta.
Remember that a legacy does not have to be an enormous amount of money,so when you have remembered the ones you love, please think about us. A Will or Codicil can be a complex legal document.
Gifts to a charity can create savings of Inheritance Tax so we certainly do not suggest that you write or alter any existing Will without taking legal advice but if you wish to include the Brittle Bone Society it is quite straightforward. All you need to provide is our name, registered address and charity number, which are set out below:
Brittle Bone Society, Grant-Paterson House,
30 Guthrie Street, Dundee, DD1 5BS
Registered charity numbers - England and Wales: 272100,Scotland: SCO10951.If you want to discuss, on a strictly confidential basis, leaving a legacy for the Brittle Bone Society, please phone Patricia Osborne or Christine Hope on 01382 204446
