Helping those with Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI)
Brittle Bone Society
Wishbone Day
What is Wishbone Day May 6th OWN IT?
Wishbone Day is about raising awareness of Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI), otherwise known as 'brittle bones'. UK wide Charity the Brittle Bone Society is asking members to note this date in their diary. Wishbone Day will be an annual awareness day held on the 6th May. Wishbone Day will raise awareness of OI by acknowledging all the great things that people with OI are achieving!
Join us in making Wishbone Day bigger every year. Wishbone Day will take on many forms, in many places with people of all ages. People and organisations will express Wishbone Day in their own way. Each expression will be their own unique contribution to this worldwide community awareness effort.
Why is Wishbone Day important?
Because knowing that life with OI can still be all that you dreamed, is sometimes just what mums and dads need to hear. Awareness makes a difference. Because assumptions about what OI is and what OI isn't often creates more challenges and difficulties than the Osteogenesis Imperfecta itself. Awareness makes a difference.
Because we want the world to know that OI is no show stopper. It just adds to the adventure!
