OIFE Stronger Together Conference held in Valencia 6th to 8th Sep
Penny Clapcott BBS member and layperson on the BBS Scientific Advisory Board, was asked by the Charity to attend an OIFE members meeting in Spain and report back on the event.
The conference brought together board members, staff, and volunteers from national OI-organizations across Europe. There were updates on the IMPACT survey which BBS had previously reported on, talks about Healthcare technology appraisals, updates on research and the importance of patient advocacy. There were also breakout sessions for those wanting to learn more about social media planning and fundraising as well as opportunities to share best practices.
Penny took part in various workshops and discussions and was a panel member discussing Patient Advocacy. Penny will be providing a full summary in due course. You can read more about Penny’s journey to becoming a patient advocate here
