Dundee University Social Prescribing Event

On Thursday 14th March, Patricia and Coreen visited Ninewells Hospital in Dundee to host a stand for the annual meeting of the Dundee University Social Medicine Society. There were talks about vital links workers out and about in the community and how they compliment the work that ordinary GP’s undertake and can offer additional support with things like housing and benefits. We also heard about new ways of running GP practices to involve more holistic approaches to care in the community. The delegates included local GP’s and other healthcare workers. We got the opportunity to speak to medical students and took the opportunity to urge them to consider specialising in working in the rare bone space. It was a really interesting event and we were pleased to support it.
