2024 Conference & AGM
We had a great time in Warwick at our 2024 Mini Conference and AGM! There was a fantastic line-up of speakers, covering all aspects of living with OI. From surgery to dentistry, we heard updates and insights from a range of healthcare professionals. We also had a panel of OI community members who told us all about their involvement with the BBS which was enjoyed by all. It was great to hear an update from Thines Ganeshamoorthy on the recently establish Rare Disease Collaborative Network, who was joined on-stage by Coreen Kelday, our Support Development Officer and Jonathan Gibson, Campaign Lead for Metabolic Support UK.
We, once again, used some interactive digital media to capture the views, opinions and feedback of our attendees on the topics being discussed. The interactive sessions at our recent events have been incredibly successful and this was echoed again at this years conference.
Chairman of our Scientific Advisory Board, Prof. Keen, shared news on current research projects and BBS Trustee, Prof. Nick Bishop updated us on ongoing clinical trials. Dental Experts, Dr McGoldrick and Megan Crichton PhD, gave us their insights into improving dental healthcare pathways. We also heard from Prof. Adrian Gardner, member of our Medical Advisory Board, who discussed the topic of spinal surgery, and Occupational Therapist Kieran Murphy who spoke about inclusivity in education.
We hope that you enjoyed this year’s conference, made many memories and created lasting friendships!
