Brittle Bone Society (BBS) were delighted to host the VOICE Youth event, a fun weekend designed for young people living with Osteogenesis Imperfecta. Held in Blackpool, the event provided an opportunity for attendees to build friendships, create memories, and engage in a wide range of fun activities.
Throughout the weekend, participants took part in a specialist workshop on pain management, led by Physiotherapist Sophie Barlow, offering practical advice and support for day-to-day living. We were also privileged to hear from speakers Jennie Williams, Gem Turner, and Trustee Joanna Cannon, who shared their experiences and insights on independent living, sexuality, and family life.
The event wasn’t all serious – there was plenty of fun too! Attendees enjoyed a scavenger hunt around Blackpool, learnt new skills at a cocktail-making class (mocktails included!), and danced away at a dance workshop with Monique Jarrett.
