Harris Academy Students Win YPI Grant for BBS

back

We are thrilled that a group of students from Harris Academy in Dundee won the Youth Philanthropy Initiative (YPI) for the BBS. Trustee Yvonne Grant and Staff member Coreen Kelday attended the final to watch all the projects that were in the running. The group presenting our charity were selected as winners of the prize of £3,000 which goes to the BBS and for which we are incredibly grateful for.

Thank you to the students and staff at Harris Academy for all their hard work and our congratulations on this fantastic win!

YPI is delivered to year groups across hundreds of secondary schools throughout Scotland. In this programme, students collaborate in teams to identify a social issue they are passionate about and select a local charity dedicated to addressing that issue. Teams are then tasked with contacting the charity and developing a compelling, impactful project. Each school will award a £3000 grant to the team that delivers the most creative and persuasive presentation. YPI encourages skill development and builds confidence through immersive, context-based learning experiences. The programme not only increases awareness of social issues and local charities but also plays a crucial role in promoting devolved, community-driven grant-making.
