Help us make the month of May official ‘OI Awareness Month.’
We would like to see the month of May officially adopted across the UK and Republic of Ireland as a Government recognised month of awareness for OI. Help us establish a month-long focus in May devoted to raising awareness for OI! We want to share all the positives, but also to reflect on some of the changes we would like to see. This includes diagnosis, general knowledge of OI, the gaps in Adult Services, equipment and more.
You can see full details of the campaign by reading the Campaign Leaflet
Join the OICAN campaign, spread the word!
We’re asking you to write to your MP or other elected official requesting that they back the Brittle Bone Society’s (BBS) campaign to establish a National Awareness Month for OI in May. An early Day Motion 169 in support of the campaign has already been tabled.
We’ve created a Template Letter that you can use as a basis for your own letter or email. Taking the time to personalise the letter will help to get the message across.
You can do this two ways:
- By downloading the Word Document Template Letter
- Or by using our Google Document. This is a good alternative for people who do not have Microsoft Word. Click here for the Google Doc Template Letter.
How to contact your Local elected representative:
- If you live in the UK you can find contact details for your elected representative here: https://www.theyworkforyou.com/mp/
- If you live in Ireland you can find contact details here: https://www.whoismytd.com/
