OICAN May Campaign

Help us make the month of May official ‘OI Awareness Month.’

We would like to see the month of May officially adopted across the UK and Republic of Ireland as a Government recognised month of awareness for OI. Help us establish a month-long focus in May devoted to raising awareness for OI! We want to share all the positives, but also to reflect on some of the changes we would like to see. This includes diagnosis, general knowledge of OI, the gaps in Adult Services, equipment and more.

You can see full details of the campaign by reading the Campaign Leaflet

STEP 1

We’re asking you to write to your MP or other elected official requesting that they back the Brittle Bone Society’s (BBS) campaign to establish a National Awareness Month for OI in May. An early Day Motion 169 in support of the campaign has already been tabled.

We’ve created a Template Letter that you can use as a basis for your own letter or email. Taking the time to personalise the letter will help to get the message across.

You can do this two ways:

STEP 2

Show your support of the BBS Patient Charter by signing here.  There is no limit on who can sign the charter, you can share with friends, family and co-workers. The more signatures we have the greater chance for success.

You can download our charter here: BBS Charter

STEP 3

Follow us and share on social media! The more you share our posts the more people will see our campaign! You can find our OICAN May Campaign Social Media Toolkit here.

Have you signed our charter? Show your support and add our Twibbon to your profile! You can find the Twibbon here.
