Wishbone Day 2022

Wishbone Day

Every year on 6th May, people come together and celebrate Wishbone Day – an international awareness-raising day for Osteogenesis Imperfecta.

Raising awareness is crucial as it helps to raise the funds that are needed to support families living with OI and helps the BBS continue its vital work.

Here are some examples on how to join in the fun:

Wear Yellow

Whether its a yellow t-shirt,  a pair of socks, or a three piece suit, wear it proud and share your pictures!  Here is a collection of some yellow outfits from 2022 and 2021.

#OICANMayCampaign

The BBS would like to see the month of May officially adopted across the UK and Republic of Ireland as a Government recognised month of awareness for OI. We want to share all the positives, but also to reflect on some of the changes we would like to see. An official OI Awareness Month will allow us to celebrate OI the way we do on Wishbone Day over a whole month. To read more about the campaign and how to get involved visit our OICAN May Campaign page. You can also use our social media toolkit.

#1VOICE4OI

Osteogenesis Imperfecta Federation Europe (OIFE) has created a campaign where they offer a stage for the OI Community to come together, share your story and raise awareness of OI. You can read more about the campaign on the OIFE website.

Wishbone Day Video Campaign 2021

For Wishbone Day 2021, we asked you to be the campaign! You can watch all our Wishbone Day videos on our YouTube.

Spread the Word

Time to get creative! There is no limit on what you can do for Wishbone Day. Over the years we have had people organise events at work, we have had yellow cakes baked, and even a whole class in school wear yellow!

Whatever you have planned for Wishbone Day, get in touch.
