Here are lots of fun things you can do to fundraise. If you haven’t decided what is best for you, here are some ideas to get you started.
Easy Virtual Fundraising ideas
It is difficult to come up with fundraising ideas during Lockdown, so we have complied a list of different ideas on how you can quickly and easily fundraise for the BBS, virtually.
You can create a Facebook fundraiser for any event. Whether it’s a birthday or an anniversary, you can simply set up a fundraiser, select the BBS as your charity and ask your Facebook friends to donate.
By visiting Amazon Smile you can select the BBS as your charity and each time you make a purchase at Amazon, the BBS receives a donation at no additional cost to yourself.
Raise free donations for the BBS when you shop online at over 4,000 leading stores including eBay, Booking.com and John Lewis. You can visit EveryClick and choose BBS as your selected charity and we will receive donations as you shop.
Similar to Amazon Smile and Every Click, Give As You Live gives a donation to your chosen charity as you shop online. This includes online retailers such as ASOS, Boots and M&S.
Are you looking to have a clear out? You can turn your old DVD’s , CD’s and books into cash donations for the BBS with Declutter and Donate. All you have to do is download the Ziffit app, scan the barcodes of your products and get an instant value, select the BBS as your chosen charity at checkout and pack up your unwanted goodies. Use Ziffit’s contact-free courier or drop-off service to send your items, free of charge and the value of the items will be donated to your chosen charity.
With eBay For Charity, you can buy or sell with a donation made to the BBS at no extra cost to yourself. Simply visit the site, choose the BBS as your selected charity and donations will be made as you shop!
Donate your Commute & Donate a Coffee
Are you saving money working from home during Lockdown? Why not donate the cost of your commute or a takeaway coffee that you save by staying at home to the BBS. You can donate to our Just Giving page here.
You can still take part in a virtual Kiltwalk this year to raise money for the BBS. All you have to do is choose a challenge, choose the BBS as your charity and your fundraising gets a 50% boost from Sir Thomas Hunter and the Hunter foundation. You can read more about the Kiltwalk and sign up here.
Charity Gaming Stream
Do you consider yourself a gamer? Whether you consider yourself a pro, or you do it just for fun you can raise money for the BBS while you play. All you have to do is set up a JustGiving page, set a date and time for your stream to broadcast live on Twitch, and finally have fun streaming your event while hopefully raising money for the BBS!
Are you a fitness fanatic?
Why not consider running a marathon
or a sponsored cycle or swim!
Are you an adrenaline junkie?
Skydive, bungee jump or abseil your way to raising funds.
Are you an entertainer?
Organise a gala ball, pub quiz or comedy night with a raffle or auction.
Are you a baker?
A coffee morning or cake sale might be more up your street.
Something to celebrate?
Whether it’s a birthday, marriage or anniversary, why not ‘give in celebration’.
Remember, all of these ideas can be done virtually too!

Fundraising Tips
Create an online fundraising page through JustGiving, Virgin Money Giving, or Facebook to make it simple and secure for people to sponsor you anywhere, anytime. Simply set up the page and share the link with friends, family and colleagues via email, Facebook and Twitter.
Your fundraising efforts can be given a big boost by asking your sponsors to Gift Aid their donation. If your sponsor is a UK taxpayer, the Brittle Bone Society will receive an extra 25% at no extra cost to you or your sponsor.
Close friends and family are likely to give more generously so ask them to sponsor you first as their amounts may set the trend for other donations.
Many companies will match what you raise so find out if your employer does Matched Giving.
Keep it legal. Certain fundraising activities require licenses, consent and insurance. If in doubt, contact us and we will guide you on any requirements.
Look the part. Visit our merchandise page for T-shirts and any other merchandise you require, including posters to promote your event and sponsor forms.
