Orthopaedic surgery and fracture management

Many individuals with OI will undergo surgery more than once.

Treatment of OI is managed largely through non surgical intervention, however, surgery may be recommended if for example: there are repeated fractures of the same bone, in fractures that do not heal properly or in cases of bone deformity, such as scoliosis.
