Since 2015 or so, I have had the great privilege of providing pro bono (free) legal advice to Brittle Bone Society and now Brittle Bone Society (BBS) on charity law, contract and data protection matters. I have been a lawyer with the international law firm Jones Day since 1988 and am admitted to practice law in England and Wales and in New York. I lead Jones Day London’s pro bono efforts and work closely with other colleagues in the London office on community outreach and efforts to promote social mobility. I am a trustee of a charity that operates in England and Scotland for the relief of poverty and I am a Governor of Merton Abbey School in London. One of my brothers was born with congenital bone and growth issues.
Over the last two years, I have helped with the legal actions to incorporate BBS, building security for its future. I was able to attend some of the Society’s magnificent 50th anniversary celebrations and I attended my first Brittle Bone annual conference in 2019. I was pretty hopeless at the Quiz Night but I had a great weekend meeting members and learning about OI.
If elected, I will do my very best to build on Gareth’s legacy of service and commitment to BBS and its members. Thank you for your support
