Would you like to be part of creating a virtual reality videogame for kids with OI ?
Researchers at McGill University in Canada are conducting an exciting study to create a Virtual Reality (VR) tool to help children with osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) prepare for surgery. By working with children, families, and healthcare providers, they hope to help children with OI learn about their surgeries and decrease their anxiety.
What’s going to happen if you join?
By participating, your voice will help shape this innovative tool. You can join as part of the VR Council where you’ll work directly with the research team, family members, children with OI, healthcare providers, teachers, and game creators to develop the VR tool from beginning to end.
Why Should You Join?
- Help develop a meaningful resource for children with OI.
- Contribute to advancing child-centered healthcare tools.
- Be part of an innovative project using cutting-edge technology to improve OI care.
Who can participate?
- Parents, siblings, and caregivers of children with OI
- Healthcare providers (e.g., physicians, nurses, physiotherapists, and other allied health professionals) working with peadiatric OI patients
- Childhood educators and education specialists/researchers
- Software and game developers
