Abdur-Rahman’s Chair

back

Quote from Abdur-Rahmans parents

He doesn’t feel that he is holding us (our family) back when out and about anymore

He can race ahead when we go for a walk, shopping, etc. He takes the lead and is not reliant on others to push him when he gets tired of pushing himself along, or going up a hill as he would do on his manual wheelchair.

He has more presence and independence at school as he doesn’t need to be pushed by staff when in his manual chair (the chair is so heavy people can’t push him in it, which is a good thing).

He can do most things at school from his chair without the need of manual handling or having to transfer between equipment/chairs.

It’s also made him happier and loves to get out on it, the horn, lights, everything…..
